SOS Children's Villages is one of the largest providers of child and youth care, a donation organisation and independent of political parties. This gives us security, but also many opportunities!
The Programme Director (PD) will lead the implementation of the SOS Children’s Villages Programme in the location, which includes both an alternative care and a family strengthening component. The person will ensure compliance with the SOS Strategy 2030, as well as related plans, budgets policies and quality standards:
This position was created specifically for the Mthatha Flood Recovery and Child-centered Resilience Project. It is a fixed-term role for the duration of the 24-month project, designed to lead, coordinate, plan and drive the successful implementation of the project deliverables:
The Social Worker is responsible for ensuring that the procedures for the admission (and departure) of children into (and from) SOS are properly followed. S/he/they provides advice, guidance and support to the Child and Youth Care Workers and works closely with them to plan appropriate programmes for the development of each child. As part of the Village team, he/she/they supports the other staff members, on issues relating to the Care workers and children.
The Office and Logistics Manager is responsible for optimizing office operations, oversees daily office operations, ensuring efficiency by managing facilities, supplies, budgets, fleet and staff support, while also handling administrative tasks like scheduling and implementing procedures to optimize workflow and maintain a positive environment. Combines administrative office support with supply chain oversight, including procurement, inventory control, shipping, and facility management. Large element of the position involves supporting senior management and the board with meetings, travel and other logistics.
The Community Family Empowerment (CFE) Programme is meant to transform family and community environments into safe, nurturing and loving environments for children and young people. It builds the capacity of parents and caregivers to ensure safeguarding, socio-emotional well-being of children in homes and community settings. It empowers parents with sustainable livelihood programmes to alleviate multiple deprivation situations in families.
The CFE Literacy Facilitator working under the supervision of the Social Worker will play a key role in implementing, supporting, tracking and reporting school-based interventions under the CFE Programme. The role exists to promote psychosocial wellbeing, improve learner performance, strengthen support structures and ultimately ensure that learners remain in school, significantly reducing dropout rates among Grade 8 and 9 learners
The CFE Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer supports the implementation and effective functioning of the Community and Family Empowerment (CFE) programme’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning system across assigned implementation sites. The role focuses on supporting high quality data collection, verification, collation and reporting to ensure credible information is generated and used to track programme performance and results
The Driver will provide safe, reliable, and efficient transport services in support of the Community Family Empowerment (CFE) Programme. The role supports programme implementation by transporting staff, community facilitators, materials, and beneficiaries while ensuring compliance with organisational policies, road safety regulations, and safeguarding standards.
