Nqabakazi Gina is a child’s rights activist with an Honours Degree in Social Science from Rhodes University, a Degree in Public Management and Governance from the University of Cape Town, Masters in Public Management (candidate), Global Gender Equity Leadership qualification from Riseup for Girls (Canadian Public Health Training Institute), a Diploma in Project Management, Executive Leadership with Dinaledi Institute and Masterclass in Impact Measurement and Management and Child's Rights Governance.
She has over 22 years of community development experience in the Non-Profit and Private Sector, 18 which were leadership positions. She has been exposed to various developmental modalities that embrace people-centred approaches, which include the Human Rights sector (Office of the Public Protector), the Childcare and Protection Sector (Save the Children South Africa, Mangaung OVCs, The Homestead Projects for Street Children), Education Sector (Ministerial Teacher Development Project for the Department of Basic Education), Social Justice Sector (health rights of high-risk populations). She has led three non-profit organisations, amongst which was the Homestead (Cape Town) which provides care and protection for children from the streets. Her recent leadership was at the Nalibali Trust, a national literacy development organisation.
