What are aid packages?

You can view various donation examples via our SOS gift donation shop and add them to your shopping cart, such as further education courses, seeds, vaccinations and many more. If you choose these examples, you will receive a gift certificate on request, in which you can fill in the name of the person receiving the gift, print out the certificate and forward it to the recipient or give it personally as a gift.
 

How do I help by purchasing a relief pack?

You help by purchasing an aid package with an unrestricted monetary donation. We want to show clearly what you can do with a specific donation amount for needy children and families. You support SOS work worldwide with a donation that is used where it is most needed. They help so unbureaucratically and efficiently.
 

Am I actually sending a real aid package?

Of course, we do not package any of the donation options listed in Austria in order to ship them to Africa, Asia or Latin America. Whenever possible, SOS Children's Villages purchases the goods and services it needs in the respective country. For example, we can have a bed or a school desk made locally or buy it at local markets. In this way we save transport costs and make a contribution to regional economic development in poor countries.
 

How are the prices for the various donation packages determined?

We determined the prices for individual countries in which SOS Children's Villages is active and whose price level is representative of a specific region: eg for Zambia in southern Africa. The prices for certain assistance services can differ significantly from region to region and can also change continuously - not least because of fluctuating exchange rates.
 

When will I receive the gift certificate?

As soon as you have sent your order, you will immediately receive the gift certificate by e-mail for you to print out.

Are SOS aid packages tax deductible?

Yes. Donations and sponsorship contributions are tax deductible , and so are our aid packages.
