From the desk of our new National Director

What kind of society would we be, if we didn’t care for children – even those who aren’t ours by blood? It’s a society that I do not wish to be part of.

Thankfully, SOS is blessed to have donors who have opened their hearts to provide loving homes to the most vulnerable children.

As a father to three teenagers, I know the importance of nurturing children, and providing them with secure homes. I was raised in an extended family and enjoyed love and care not only from my grandparents, aunts and uncles, but also the community at large.

There were children in our home who I was shocked to later learn, were not my blood relatives. They had been abandoned by their family but were moulded with the same love and consideration as the rest of us.

I see these same principles at work at SOS everyday. It fills me with great hope and purpose.

I thank every SOS donor, for every donation, no matter how big or small, for helping us raise our children. After all, it takes a village to raise a child!
